General Info:
- Get In: Is on privately owned land on the river right bank approximately 2km upstream of the village of Spiddal (known locally as the ‘short-start’). There will be no access along this road to buses or trailers, as it is narrow road and no parking is available. Competitor’s equipment (boats and paddles) will be brought to the get on by organisers. A drop off facility for competitors will only be available at the get in
- Get Out: The get out is located below the bridge in Spiddal, known locally as Poll Gorm. Parking for the event will be provided for the event at ‘The Pier’ and ‘The School’ for cars only, buses and trailers will be asked to park along the beach in Spiddal Village (see map).
- Course Difficulty: The competition section will consist of 5 grade 3 rapids interspaced by sections of grade 2- 2+ of river. See www.irishwhitewater.com for a detailed description. Rescue points will be provided at the 5 grade 3 rapids, known locally as the S-Bend, The Footbridge, The Rock Garden, The Broken Weir and Poll Gorm.
